The Big Rig Boulder Pad Specs and Description

PADS 3 pic.JPG

The pad folds up into a secure backpack which is capable of fitting vast amounts of crag gear. The cushioned shoulder and waste straps allow for the pad and crag gear to be carried far distances with ease. The waste strap allows for most of the weight to be supported by the hips, taking pressure off the shoulders and back allowing peak performance when reaching the boulders.

Dimensions:

Backpack:        (100x65x24) cm

Pad:                  (100x130x12) cm

Weight:            6.0 kg

Material:

The outer shell of the pads has been manufactured with Ripstop, this is a durable material strong enough to withstand the forces of the unforgiving Fynbos and Cederberg. The top side of the pad has been manufactured with Cordura. This is a durable material as well as being aesthetically pleasing.

Foam:

The protective padding is composed of two closed cell and one open cell foam layers, creating a sandwich configuration with the two closed cell layers surrounding the single open cell layer. The sandwich composition allows for a high bending stiffness with an overall lower density. This is ideal for energy absorption despite being lightweight.
