XL Rig who loves anything to do with the outdoors, especially climbing and surfing when the fingers are injured.

Graduating with a mechanical and mechatronics degree with a strength of product design, outdoor climbing product design was right up the alley, combining both love and knowledge.

An XL rig. In this case XL stands for extra long. I have an ape index around 191cm. The result is that I love dynos and no beta is safe around my reach.

Graduated from UCT with a Finance and Accounting degree. Not sure why I chose this degree but hey, at least I know have to minimize tax expense and calculate profit. I was born to be outdoors. I was that kid who grew up on monkey bars and not play-stations. I watched National Geographic instead of cartoons and was introduced to the beauty of nature at a young age courtesy of my father.

My favorite thing about BIG RIG is that board meetings happen at the berg.

Why start a climbing company? Climbing gear in South Africa has become ridiculously expensive and fairly unaffordable to most climbers, especially students and dirtbags. The climbing market is dominated by a couple giants that have way to much control and hence the sky high prices. We aim to upset this hierarchy by slowly chipping away at the market share through providing durable climbing gear and accessories.
